Battlegroup Kanli has two divisions. Guild ranks in each division are reflective, so that an office in Poodoo Squad has the same command over Lieutenants, Members and Recruits in the General Force. This post will cover the basics of both divisions (Prosperity [Poodoo] Squad and the General Force) as well as the ranking scheme for members.
General Force
The general force is the larger division of the battlegroup's forces. It consists of Jedi and Smugglers who were there at the sacking of Kanli Station or have joined the cause for whatever reason. The original members were younglings, padawans, and the crew of captains stuck on Kanli station when it was attacked. The new members can be from any background the player so desires.
Poodoo Squad
The original concept for Poodoo Squad was to make a semi-static group of Trooper characters named to tribute action movie characters outside of Star Wars. However, that plan has fallen to the wayside due to our leveling frenzy and a lack of desire for "tribute" characters. Therefore, Prosperity Squad is now open to all troopers in the guild.
They are called Poodoo Squad, insultingly although some members take the name with pride, because these troopers get the worst jobs and succeed. Many of their past missions were suicide missions or just dirty ops that no one else wanted to do. Since they got the "dirty" jobs then they got a dirty name. The idea is actually a reference to Dirty Harry Callahan, if you know why he's called Dirty Harry.
Guild Ranking
The guild ranks are as follows:
When we first started, players that I knew personally had their mains set to the rank of Officer. Then their first alt as Lieutenant and the rest to Sergeant. Anyone they introduced had their mains set to Lieutenants and the rest of their alts set to Sergeant. This was to establish a general structure of the guild.
Now that we are beyond that point, any new member will start as a Corporal. If they remain active for 1 week, they will be promoted to Sergeant. When we have more than twice as many Sergeants as we do Lieutenants, a Sergeant will be promoted to Lieutenant. Players without a character at Lieutenant already will get preferential treatment in the promoting process at this point. When we have more than twice as many Lieutenants as we do Officers, a Lieutenant will be promoted similarly.
ICly, Privates are faceless NPCs that can be killed off in RP posts by the dozen or companion characters.
I hope this clarifies the general structure of the guild.
